From the oldschool of good pilots I remember (and I'm sure I'm leaving out a whole gang of them): Sheng, EvilBob, x_Killa_X, Tbone, .spaivxx, Coombie, Armand, Banshee, Tael, HellGremlin, Coeus, Backslash Jack, $ythe, Rogue Spear, Darksworde, Quistis, Barthezz, xTx, Doran, Josef, Warren, Veronw, |2eason, etc,... the list goes on (I can't just list the top 100 ranks, so sorry if I left you out, trying to do an 8 year roll-call of best pilots i've faced /seen in action isn't easy.)
As of now, since I'm Kluth and haven't played much recently, the best I've seen in the opposition so far is CommanderHawk, but he has been more tactical and in stations... haven't had many 1 on 1 style combat fighting with anyone yet. On the friendly side, the WOLF fleet has some talent, but haven't played with them enough. xTx is as nasty as he always has been.
So, given my short time here as of late, I'll go historic and say Sheng. The guy was a really nasty combat pilot back in the 2001-2004 era. No idea if he still plays. He was pretty vicious, like Evilbob... Edit: checked his last login, and it's March 9, 2009.... we meet again...

sanity assasin was really aggressive during 1.48x, but dont see him no more
Plus, should clearify best Combat pilot:
Most deadly? => tends to kill people most
Most damging?=> stays in combat the longest, beats down anyone that comes at em.
Most slipery?=> Can never seem the kill the bastard, no matter how good the odds are on ur side.
i dont know, maybe do a highest Kills/Killed ratio.

padma was pretty nasty in a combat dessie, SA is quite the ninja, but you cant really compare a duelist to actual combat on the field :/
