Why someone has to prove themselfs to be let in the Advanced forum?

Only reason i ask this is because, someone who is learning how to code generally has a very basic knowledge of so said language. And reading over and or atleast trying to have an understanding of whats about to happen or going to happen is more educational.

My first couple of years out of college were mantaince programmer positions. ie. I would take an existing application and update it or correct a few programming errors..

Anyways i was just wondering and didnt want to offend anyone and thier set rules

Peace.

Well as I recall, those rules were set in place due to the fact that people used it to create "one-liners" Basically single lines of code that would generate an object, and thats all it was used for. Also people would then set up servers for this, etc. etc.

In my opinion I dont see how this hurts anything, however, the knowledge of the scripting is basically wasted as its not put to any real use, so I can see their reasoning.

On the other hand though, I feel that by allowing the advanced scripting forum to be unlocked would be a plus in many aspects, such as that it can be used to further influence a persons learning ability about scripting, by having many examples out there already, and many things to help ( as I recall). Though the familiar problems with the one-lines would continue, which is why that would be a problem.

Im not saying everyone would do so, but a vast majority of people who want to script and havent bothered to learn how (properly) would do so. Though the people who have bothered to "try" to learn how would likely like to tinker further, as they know such possibilitys exist.

So many pros, as well as cons, kinda conflicting isnt it?
