When I log into the game, all text is invisible. I can see the squares where the options should be(observe, play, quit, etc), but no text. Nor can I see the mouse cursor. If I click around randomly until I hit either observe or quit, the menu changes(ei, the position and number of squares), but the text is still invisible

Running AMD 700, 384 ram, ATI Rage Fury Pro 32 meg card

Updated to direct X 8a

Tried all drivers released for the past 18 months, including experimental ones. Tried different resolutions, color modes, toggling on/off anti-aliasing. Reinstalled.

Same occured before patch except that I could not even see the squares.

well - the ATI-card`s are not loved by DS

try to install the newest driver`s then go to the setup and re-define the settings

@Bumble:

Might it be that he "tabbed" it away?? Never
tried to press TAB at this screen.

Nor is it the drivers..tried every one I could get my hands on, including a few experimentals that had some.. interesting side effects

You can actualy see the menu, just not the text in them or the mouse cursor

Two things to try...

Firstly, read the FAQ.. I address text issues with the ATI cards.

Second, lower your "Texture Detail" level in the Setup.

cannot read the text in the game, it looks messed up?
This problem usually occurs on ATI cards. You can fix this problem by pulling up your control panel, double clicking on "Display", then goto "Advanced Settings". Under the DirectX tab you have the option to enable "Change Pixel-Center", which will make the text readable in DarkSpace.

Wich panel do they mean ? I don´t have such an option in my graphic-crad settings. And lowering the texture details doesn´t really help ...
