I'm having a real bad issue when trying to start DS. I've been reading the forums looking for answers and decided we need a discussion on the best (stability/quality) version of the Detonator drivers.
I'm currently using 21.81 and after my experiences along with some I've read, I will cast those into the fire immediately.
So here's my problem, in case anyone has valuable input:
I have:
Win2k SP2
Detonator 21.81
DX 8.1
VIA 4in1 4.37V
(All freshly installed)
My system includes a Geforce2 MX and VIA chipset with AMD 1Ghz.
When I start DS and join a server or tutorial, i get the downloading catalog window... it gets to 0kb out of 11.8kb (always 11.8kb) and then the entire machine restarts suddenly without warning. The first time it happened I got a BSOD with an DRIVER_IRQL_NO_LESS_OR_EQUAL for the ndisp.dll (nvidia driver). Subsequently, the machine just restarts as mentioned.
I tried adjusting the resolution in setup to no avail. I will next attempt a different version of Detonator drivers. Any suggestions? Any other ideas?
Thanks much, I CANT WAIT to play!

Your not having a graphics card problem, that error is a network card problem. Update your NIC drivers, and you should be fine.

It was my NIC card. I have the Linksys card that no one can get to work - LNE100TX. Swapping the card is currently the only solution.
Thanks!
How bout them detonators?
