I found a post about the GeForce 3 farther down the list here but it was locked, besides it didn't provide any help. I have a GeForce 3 with the latest drivers and DX 8.0, I have not yet found DX 8.1 drivers for xp, but I will keep looking. I don't get any error messages, my computer simply Re-boots when I try to join a server...
I've fiddled with the settings to no avail, any help out there? Is anyone using GF3 without any problems?

Windows XP have ALREADY implemented DirectX 8.1. There is NO released standalone install of DX8.1 for XP!

nVidia Detonator Drivers 4 & 5:
version 23.11 are not WHQL for wXP and include infinity loop bug !

istead of 23.11 suggest to you use 23.12beta (WHQL for XP) and fixed infinity loop bug !

or use beta 27.00, 27.10, 27.20 which are unofficial pre Detonators 5!

plus version 27.00 already apeared on windows XP update (search for driver and nVidia manufacturer)!!! www.windowsupdate.com

Last driver on nVidia developer site was same days back version 27.80.

I've looked all over the windows update site and the nVidia site. I can't find any beta drivers at all! Do you have a direct link??

I found the fix! actually all i had to do was select 'allow applications to select anti-aliasing mode' in the Anti-aliasing settings of the Geforce display properties.

checked the WinXP update page the other day and found they had the nvidia 23.12 drivers listed under Driver Updates.... downloaded them and they work fine... i got no gf3 though... might try clicking the Personalize Windows Update and make sure it's not hiding anything...
