i can start up darkspace isee the palestar logo and im back looking at my desktop no warning or crash error

Did it work before? If so what changed since then? What are your computer's specs? Have you tried re-installing DS? Have you tried running in windowed mode?

i just helped a lad with this, make sure your Sound card is A-ok. who woula thunk if ya dont have a sound card the game throws a fit.

1) Make sure you have a sound card installed, and the correct drivers for it.
In my experience, 90% of the time this is the cause of the error. DarkSpace requires a sound card and the drivers installed to play - even if you don't actually have any speakers turned on or plugged in.
I have entered a bug into Mantis concerning this exact situation wherein DarkSpace won't launch or crashes on launch if a sound card is not present. [ This Message was edited by: BackSlash *Jack* on 2009-02-10 06:48 ]

Don't most MB's have an on board sound card? cause i know thats all i have.

well the issue i helped that dude with is he had the sound card, just not up to date drivers.
so his soundcard was throwin a fit, thus makin darkspace turn its nose.
havnt the dependancy of this removed would be good jack

If you don't receive any sound then you might try and go to the website of your computers manufacture and down load the new sound card driver. Else your on board sound card is fried.

Just an update on this issue - DarkSpace will now run without a sound card without crashing!
