Anyone else getting funky sound after the latest updates?
Sounds like the sound effect keeps starting and looping so it's like bip-bip-bip dead fast.

I've had it for a long time. Was forced to do a clean install of my entire system... guess what? The sound sounds like it should be now!
Maybe your files have been corrupted for some reason. Try reinstalling your soundcard drivers might help...

Shoula mentioned, I got this fixed but I'm not sure which of 2 actions fixed it. Could have been the turning on virtual memory.

I have this problem too with a sound blaster pro platinum so i dont think is he sound card but maybe a corruption or a incompability or also a computer perfomancer problem. I want your opinion for who have this problem describe your computer hardware. I have a 1.5GHz athlon Xp with Windows XP pro and sound card sound blaster pro platinum. If many peaople have the same configuration with the same problem we should help the dev team with that. Thx

I get sound problems particularly near large explosions and other places numerous sounds are playing at the same time, like being zoomed in with several ships around with engines humming away. I'm using a Hercules GameTheatre XP, with an Athlon 2800+, GeForce 3 and Windows XP.

i dont know if this is helpful....
i have found that various programs effect my sound in general...that is Real player, Kazaa, winamp and media player. So if I adjust the sound in Kazaa it changes my system sound properties and I have to go in and readjust everything afterward. Or if I play a real media video and turn the sound up or down for it. A common problem I have had is that the enemy ship bleeps become very high pitched and pop. Or the lobby "thump" sounds very different after using some player.
As an aside I have turned on my EAX and it really adds some cool effects to DS

For gods sake people, look at the dates on the thread before you reply.
Someone lock or delete it.
