need an Admins help, or some1 with technical knowledge of fixing problems
ok this is from StarDancer, cuz obviously she cant log in
i get the first page i think its a home page but i cant get into the chat room
nope it goes to the server and nothing comes up
it shows its trying to down load but it goes away and the ds lobby doesnt show up
u can contact me thru MSN or the lobby, and i will point her in ur general direction over MSN of course, but she has no idea what the problem is, and that is as detailed as she got with me, i have the conversation logged of what i have of her problem.
PS she used to be able to log in before she restored her comp to fact settings and such, she cant even get into the lobby

If you have trouble connecting to DarkSpace, please edit your config.ini file found in your DarkSpace directory and delete the line that begins with "metaAddress=". This will connect you automatically to the release servers.
or she is using the beta client and should download the release client

haveing the same prob and that doesn't help, just downloaded the game today so i'm sure it's the rel ver.

There isnt such a file in the config.ini.
I got the same problem cant play, cant even logg in the lobby...

Ok, so you've all uninstalled DarkSapce... then deleted the entire DarkSpace folder (normally C:Program FilesPalestarDarkSpace), then reinstalled with the new 1.482 installer?
If not, then do so...
If your running windows XP, did you install service pack 2? If so, then goto control panel -> (Windows) Firewall, and allow all outgoing connections.
If none of the above applies, then tell me what OS your running... and try the following on the command line:
"C:PING meta-server.palestar.com"

or go to run and type
ping -t meta-server.palestar.com ( find this better...it pings until it times out 5 times )

I dont have the service pack installed, OS is Win XP pro.
I tried pinging 2 MV and that works

Im fixing to try a few of those.. for the longest time my GCQL errors when i log in and when i loaded the game.. I just did an Fdisk and full reinstall.. and installed the new DS client 1.482, the GCQL doesnt crash out but when it loads it freezes up =/
ATM im running Win98 sp1 here in a few days though i should have XP and in a couple of weeks a couple of nice upgrades........ 98 doesnt seem to like the FX5700 video card.. then again DS didnt seem like like it much either.. no matter what driver version i had.. As well as I couldnt DL DX9.0 B the installer wouldnt connect so i have the new 9.0c .. gah.. goodness knows from experience there could be an issue there somewhere to.

i installed the gameclient and i used the newest one.
after installing i run the game and i get the start screen where i can select what i wanna do.
i goto lobby and the screen closes and the client tries to connect but it hangs.
i tried all the things but i cant get it to work(maybee there isnt a trial period????)
this is realy a problem.
the updater says requesting file catalog.
nothing happens,
please mail me for this issue because i like to see this game if its here hehehe

ok Guys i got 2 Fixes starting with the ez one
1: Uninstall SP2 by going to ADD/REMOVE programs and find Service Pack 2 then Uninstall it.
2: Uninstall Darkspace then Reinstall to same folder if u dont get the locked msg's when u try to uninstall if u get the locked msg's reinstall to a new folder and run super server, then for both set your Config file in your darkspace Directory to

[GCQL]
doupdate=0
[CLIENT]
doupdate=0
........................................................................................................................
YOU MUST REDO THE doupdate=0 in your config file EACH time and when u loggoff a server QUICKLY cancel the update or you will have to redo the previous mentioned steps
