I have had a brightness problem for quite some time. I have just lived with it but now I have a new lcd screen and it seems even worse.

In MV things are sooo dark and I have to adjust the brightness way up to get a 'normal' picture. Naturally when I leave MV I need to readjust again. Really a pain. Can this be adjusted through the setup somehow?

The only thing I can suggest is to up your gamma settings in your video cards properties. I think a lot of people had to when Faustus decided to make DarkSpace really live up to its name.

see if there is an adjustment in the displayproperties and disable "programpreference" or change "gamma" and if u have that change the "overlay adjustment".
