I know that many of you have been trying 12.41's in DS but have been seeing all kinds of visual artifacts and glitches with text and icons, etc. as well as extreme slowdown in some cases. Thinking my ndis.sys problem that I was having on 6.50 and 7.58 detonators was a display driver-related problem, and hearing about all the trouble caused by 12.41's, I tried my card manufacturer's 12.40's (based on 12.41), and I was horrified at the speed losses and visual anomalies. However, I've heard that the 12.41 drivers perform beautifully in most of the major games out there.
Is Palestar working on improving support for Detonator 12.41's?

Yup, nvidia.com's drivers section. I experienced MASSIVE slowdowns during light combat and terrible graphical glitches. I also got these when i tested 12.00 beta drivers (and these are official releases) 2-3 months ago

well - in my oppinion - and my test`s on my "machine"
if a driver support`s DX 8.x (8.1 beta included) then (normaly) the frame-rate`s will grow and all of it looks nicer than before exept DS.
here it`s better to stay at a "DX7-Driver"
after a long time of testing`s ( and crashes and reinstall-work )here are my result`s (unfortunatly made without DS)
best of the show ASUS 12.60 (based on the 12.41 WHQL)
second place the new 12.90 beta from NVidia
third the original 12.41 WHQL from NVidia
all measures with 3DMark2001/1024x768/16bit/tripple buffer/hardware T+L
finaly - what we need is a game witch react not so sens. to HIGHSPEED
refer to the answer of faustus in the other topic

Well let's give Faustus the chance to take care of it after the open beta started.
I think he has enough to do right now.

n.p. TODDI
and you are right - first the open - then the driver-issues - just to say it again
there is no problem with "old" driver`s, only the newer CAN produce flickering and flashing

I'm really onyl saying this because many of the new players to join the DS community will have upgraded to 12.41 drivers to get benefits in other games, and then complain that DS is messed up. They might get angry that they have to downgrade their drivers, and then leave the game.
So, it's important that PS tries to fix these issues before (or, preferrably, soon after) the beta opens. The advantages of doing it after DS goes open is that 1)Non-serious testers who aren't willing to do much to support a beta program ... and 2)That will mean that open beta will start sooner than if the 12.41 issues were fixed first.

well - yes - but it`s a beta
so we have to say it clear - there is a problem - this problem will be fixed as soon as possible and in the meantime it can be ness. to switch to older driver`s.
and btw. i am one of the victim`s of this problem - and i wait for the OPEN as well as all other`s but i prefer to downgrade my driver`s temporarely than to let other`s wait longer than ness.

Well I guess that a discussion about that is quite useless cause Faustus will deal with it ASAP.
If anyone has to say s.th. new then I will unlock this topic but for now it's locked.
