I have 2 identical machines - 1 at work - 1 at office - 1gz Athlon Tbird 512 meg - gforce2 card. Cable modem at home - Hub/router at work - Tuturial works oki at home. At office I see transparent area but no text for tutorial. When I alt-F4 then I get message - Cant connect and lock up.

Do they both use the same driver versions? Which drivers, exactly?

i too have this problem,i cannot see the text in the transparent menu box, all i get is the game moving from planet to planet...i have 1GHZ AMD athlon(Tbird), 128 ram(need more i know working on it), rage 128 pro, and on a network.

In the client setup there is a box called Alpha Fonts, try to disable this setting.

Also, check if you are using an ATI card... The Rage 128 series seems to have this problem. If you are using this type of card, ONLY the WinME release drivers will work.
