A buddy of mine has one of these for sale. Great price, good reviews. But I know some of their products are a little finicky. Just wondering if there were any known issues.
Thanks

I have the same card.
most time it works fine but in the last month i had several issues.
for example: the adv. pixel shader test in 3Dmark 2001 SE let my system crash and sometimes also DS crasches. but i dont know if its me or the driver or the system settings

I got a Radeon 7200 64meg great card, only problem is my SLOOOOOOOOOW processor holds back its best performance :-/.
So if my card is good im sure the 8500 is even better.

I've an ATI 8500, and it run very well with the last drivers. No crashes at all, good performance. So I think you have some problems with your parameters or your system.

Check Raged3d.net for the latest drivers, and update DirectX if necessary, that should fix all problems.
The problem with ATI is not the hardware, but the support

I have resolved the major problem I think.
It was just an overheating of my prozessor: after i have remount the cooler
and added 2 new case fans my system runs almost stable.
But with the latest driver (Cat. 2.4 ?) the display in game will not lunch so i have set back to Cat. 2.3
I cant update DX on a WinXP System !!!! (only with SP1 or something)
