I have reinstalled my OS (XP PRO) and the wheel no longer zooms in game. Worked fine before and works everywhere else, just not in game. Any Idea what to do?

my logitech dual optical mouse requires that i enable MS compatible wheel support in my Mouse Settings to let me use it in most games... likewise i can't plug it in using the USB plug cause most games don't even reconqize all the mouse buttons then... b00 microsoft!!!

Is is a USB mouse? XP loves USB and hates anything else.

i haven't tried recently but when i did try and use the USB, the Mouse buttons would not be reconqizable at all in the games i play... i'd go in a game and try and setup mouse keys but it would only think my mouse buttons where some wierd keyboard codes.. and not like Mouse button 1, 2, middle button etc... i've talked to a few other ppl and they have had the same problems...

enabling MS compatibliy mostly just disables a few features i like with my logitech mouse... currently i don't have any MS compatible mode enabled and using my PS/2 connector (PS/2 refreshrate tweaker as well) with the lastest Logitech Mouseware and my mouse functions perfectly like it's supposed to... still very responsive and no mouse lagg either...

likewise my MS keyboard and hotkeys function perfectly in all programs and games while other ppl with logitech and other brands of multimedia keyboards have decreased functionbility... when you come down to it, it really makes you begin to wonder why non-MS products have such a harder time in the MS OSes... i could go out and buy a 6 button MS mouse and hook it up and it'd work straight off the bat.. reminds me of the current Anti-Trust case against MS...
