I don't think this has been officially brought up before but am I the only person who would like to see the return of the old ship speed standards? IE: Dreads @ 20gu/s, Cruisers @ 25gu/s, Destroyers @ 27.5, Frigates @ 30, and Scouts @ 32 (I think those were the speeds for the last three... been a long time, can anyone confirm?
Thats one of the problems I think with intelligent & skillful combat... ships moving too slow...

I would like it. But it ruins a lot.

Could you explain in more detail the reasons why when you get a chance? Thanks.

Yeah, please do...
And while I'm at it... what about giving torps some tracking back?

Dreads are going to be powerhouses next patch, and the cruisers and such lesser-so, but still worthy of your fear. If we re-instate the old speeds, it removes some of the downside to having that raw-power on those ships.

Yeah, but if EVERYTHING is going faster then it just increases the pace. Weapons will still fire just as slow, and they'll still be massive houses of pain.
Why were they slowed down in the first place?

The thought was that Dreads would be way more powerful, then someone forgot to cap armor at the weapon levels.
In 1.484, the dreads really will be powerhouses, and they need to be slow. It's a disadvantage you need to live with for being pretty much invulnrable to anything below your class.

To be honest, I love torp tracking more than you will ever realize but if it is reimplimented the way it was with the current speeds it'd be insanely overpowered.
