Hey everyone,
I looked at the links that describe Beta Testing and I am still a little fuzzy.
1.If I switch over when we are done testing I get my rank back right?
2.Once Switch I can only Beta Test right?
3.Does my prestige I earned in Beta go to my current once we are all done?
4.Once transferred can I go back to normal at any time?

A1. Hopefully but there is a difference in the ranks and pres gained on the two servers. For example in the beta i am a Fleet Admiral, in normal i am a Admiral with 16,000 less pres due to reasons well known. Doran may well answer that better than i, its not a question i have seen before.
A2. No, you download Beta and can play on whichever you fancy, either Beta or 1.483 whilst both are operating side by side.
A3. See answer 1.
Welcome to Beta, get you pres transferred and play the factions.

beta and release profiles are seperate. your beta profile has no effect on your release profile

no. beta and release can be installed in diffrent directories (i use d:darkspace for release and program filesdarkspace beta), and as long as you keep the installs seperate you shouldnt have any cross-version conflicts. you're free to play both, either or neither

no. historically you can get your release-side prestige copied beta-side to give you something to work with, but not the other way around.
4.Once transferred can I go back to normal at any time

you dont yet. keyword its yet
once modding is reenabled, it'll be functionally the same, except that all available parts will automagically be at the starport rather than being built at factories, since they serve other purposes now.
likewise upgradeing is out the window. the levels system is still in, but the level of the part when its installed is dictated by the hull.
