Well, just wondering if my maps which are running on the current release fine, will still work when the beta is being released
If I would know earlier then I could be better at remaking them
Would be good to know, although the maps made by simple players aren't really anyone's interest
Except mine

The maps should work.. although oyu might need to import/export and tweak them to take advantage of new things.

You will need to remove any structures that have changed.
Or atleast, you should, just to be safe. Since some of the names of the structures might of changed (in the editor).

Will there also be an updated map editor?
The current map editor is made to handle the current system; buildings and resources .... I doubt that it will be happy, if you click on the 'resources' button and it looks for metals and hydrogen and urdanium, but they don't exist =

They do still exist as flags for the planets, but they don't actually do anything but add a multiplier to resource production on the planet... so you can't buy them or use them independently.
Also, the editor is going away. I'm not sure on the exact reasoning, but its functions are now (mostly) rolled into the Resourcer, which is the dev tool for making everything, including maps. So unfortunately, you won't be able to make your own maps anymore - well, unless you save the current program.

This makes me sad. (not to mention killing the ability for non-moderators to run scripts on their own local server to see how scripting works)

What? Booo, making maps is fun, even if they're unused!
Will definitely be saving this program.. ><
