If its a bug i can live with it til its fixed but scanners being able to detect cloaked ships by toggling them on and off makes the cloak only good for not allowing you to fire weapons...
people detecting a cloaked ship by listening for the sound the engines make is almost bearable ...dont know if that one can be fixed.

toggling on and off scanners allows you to fire, but not to track enemy ships. Aka I can fire part cannnons/beams and maybe torpedos (if the cloaked ship isn't stupid and doesn't try to dodge) but that's it...fighters and missiles will return and go wild respectably. While I agree it's kinda cheap, if you're moving when they try it they won't hit you with anything...
As for sound, that's a valid high-skill tactic. Maybe luth sound should be lowered in volume a bit but everyone who does that to me as luth I congradulate...

I agree with you, tracking your sound in a combat situation is a skill but it makes sneaking up on someone for a first strike almost impossible.
