Well... twice ive tried to play Beta and twice ive had to leave due to being needed in the MV.
Small suggestion, Take down the MV for the Stress Test.
It would seem people are interested in taking advantage of the situation.
After all, by taking down the MV, people have no right to complain, as they complain about the lag, yet would rather take advantage of the lack of opponents in MV instead of making sure the new patch works.
Simply, Remove it for a day or so, have everyone in Beta, because EVERYONE complains about the lag so EVERYONE should be testing it because its what EVERYONE wants.
Just a simple and effective suggestion.

I agree... I also wish to stress test, but I fear UGTO would attack us when we are stress testing =/

...there is no forced balence in the MV. points out that haveing no one to fight back does not stop you from capping planets. so why should it stop us. all fare in love and yada yada yada (with-in RoC)...
nice save btw (and a thanks to Air for saveing us from death)

Indeed...Id like to see the stress test done without me having to head into the MV and scream bloody murder to get some assistance because a large fleet is attacking our space.

Well met, Pete. I agree with this notion completely... the MV is completely secondary to the stress test, and for such a short time period, we can afford to take it down to force people to do what's needed.

more ppl more stress lets see how much lag we can get if we can
earlyer we were fighting a planet war with each planet 7 fighter base threes not a bit of lag
as good as its going carriers are going to be non lag machines anymore >:)

Why does it really matter? Someone may make a 'sneak attack' on your planets, but its just like every night, when you go to bed.
It would help, but there are some who have dialup, for example, and do not want to download the beta for a day of testing.
Plus, I think this would be something that Faustus alone would handle; I don't feel comfortable taking down the entire MV, even if I thought it would help testing.

See thats a bad attitude to have, the very same people in MV will be the very first to complain if the patch doesnt work right, so surely everyone should have to test the beta?

i'm sorry but i pay to play not to test. if i see something that may not be right sure i'll report it but it is not my job as a paying user to test.
while testing is to our benfit in the long run, in the short term shutting down the servers in an attempt to force people to test (and to save your planets, the real reson behind this thread) will not work. people that want to test will and people that don't will not (though your planets will be save).
shutting down the servers will only server to piss people off because they cann't play the game (a game they pay for over and over again). also i do not beleave that any intesional down time would be credited to our accounts (another point that may piss people off).
and finaly a question...
Why are there no bots for stress testing? a bot can do anything a person can do only faster and you can spawn in as many bots as you want...
while player feed back is important for long term game play, the best information comes from playing the game over time. this will only happen on the game servers them selves or if you higher testers (the first option is not only cheaper but better in that you are getting the info from the players).
