ICC pulse defense bases are way too efficient! |

Holy cow they're unbeatable all of a sudden. I just had two lvl 1 ICC defense bases totally destroy my bomb cloud of 12 bio bombs, 4 times! (4 bombing runs). All the planet has are those two bases. You'd think that's an easy target, and it should be.
Now, think about that. That's only two lvl 1 bases and no shields. Can you imagine lvl 2 or 3 bases AND shields? It would be completely impossible to bomb. That planet would be invulnerable.
It's that pulse beam they have. The two bases were nonstop pulsing. They were able to take out 12 bombs in one small cloud before they could close the gap of about 200gu and hit the surface.
I would say they are overpowered. I would say pulse beams have to go considering how many beams lvl 2 and 3 bases have. Make defense bases universal...I mean ICC already has shields, with these super fast pulse beams it's way overboard.

32 heavy infantry make a simple drop impossible. All you'd be doing is giving the defenders higher ranks.
Really think about what I'm saying. Two bases with 1 beam each successfully defended from a bomb of clouds. That's just not right. If there were more defenses all around the planet I wouldn't even be able to drop infantry, and that's just lvl 1 bases.

I'm betting you simply pulled away from your bombs and simply let them go, at somewhere around 250gu. Even with current defense bases, you have to block the defense base lasers from hitting your bombs. You do that with your ship. Granted its harder for a cruiser then a dreadnought to block lasers if your target is higher or lower on the planet's surface, but you could always get a supply and drain the defense.

Can't Tbone. Problem is bombs are a lot faster now. You'd crash into the surface for sure. I have to move over 14 to create a cloud, sometimes over 15.
I'll even tell you what planet I was trying to bomb so you guys can go and see for yourselves. It's Ahwa in BD system, off Sol. Or try one of the better built planets there. Try Andy's Planet. I guarantee you will fail on Andy's Planet. Even a bunch of bomber dreads couldn't penetrate that defense.
EDIT: oh and draining with bios is a real pain. We can't build mirvs and with the long reload on bios you would never drain the base (not that pulse beams use a lot of energy anyway)

No different? Actually I thought that was true too until today. Maybe the last beta update fixed the pulse beams? All I know is they were pulsing nonstop with hardly a delay between. Kluth and UGTO defense bases aren't even close to that efficiency.

With the new low bomb limits even if all bombs get through you cant get a 100% shield all the way down. I've tried

This is very true, hhell, ive come into 30 distaaance of the planets center to block bombs at a decent speed, just takes a little skills
