Err... i dont know what that is i havent been keeping up.
Is it to let you travel from system to system? or blow ppl up. Is there a ship equipped from the start with it?

Implemented the "Worm Hole Device" which can be found on the ICC jump cruiser and all stations. This replaces the jump drives on those ships, and can open a worm hole for instant travel accross vast distances. The Cruiser version is less powerful and the range is limited to 2.5 million gu. The station version has a maximum range of 5 million gu.

Does this mean that only the ICC Jump Cruiser and Stations can equip the device? And will other ships be able to use this worm hole?

Apparently, as of this current version, wormholes can only be made by jump cruisers or stations (any faction's stations). Anyone can use the opened wormhole, friend or foe, and even projectiles like bombs and missiles. I don't know how long the hole lasts or anything yet though, and this is all subject to change, and probably will change.

I take it the ICC Jump Cruiser is no longer the Supreme Planet Leveler anymore. Can you imagine a worm-hole device and three PCMs? Shoot you could just open a wormhole up next to the enemy's homeworld and launch a couple through. Of course then they can come after you and your screwed since you won't have any Jump drive. Heh.
Questions:
Is the wormhole a 2-way device or 1-way? Is it Point A->B and Point B->Point A or just A to B?
Can you set up the wormhole in teh path of a planet so that the planet travels through the wormhole and flying out into a sun AHAHAHAA err yeah can planet's go through?
Can you enter a wormhole in Mid-jump and come out on the other side still in Jump-mode?
Why does only the ICC have 2 ships mounting the WOD? Are the other 2 simply not implemented or will this be a special tactical advantage for teh ICC?
Is an Improbabilty Drive planned for the future?

I guess this could be used to open a wormhole straight into orbit distance, bypassing dictor field. I'll have to go try it out.

Update; Wormhole ranges changed to 1.5 and 2.5 million GUs, respectively.

Hmm.... I think there should be some sort of weapon that closes a wormhole, right now it's a bit too easy to cap a planet with stations.

There's gonna need to be a limit placed on where you can plot wormhole destinations, as we all know I think Gideon suggested a random factor to it's actual destination? That could work. I suggest that wormhole destinations can't be plotted within 2k of a planet "to ensure safety considering the destination coordinates are always random and never certain"
We all know it's not good for the game to allow stations to appear right next to planets, unload their 20 troops without fear of them being shot down, and guaranteeing the cap.
But they sure are cool! They look like God just appeared.

I wouldn't worry about close orbit jumping stations too much, advanced def bases will swiss cheese them in no time, and the troop drop pods will not survive long enough to make planet fall on a well built planet.
It will take quite a bit of coordination to capture a planet when we're done.
