I have noticed in the Beta Scenerio with the planet Ahaza, the planets are a little wierd. I don't know if anyone has said anything about it but, Ahaza cannot have troops sent down to it. They reach around 20 gu from the planet and fall down into space. They go for about 300 gu and disappear. Another thing is about the gas giants. I tried to extract from Faobian and then it killed me even though I could see I wasn't very close to it. Also at one point it said I was able to jump through Dhao while in orbit around Boonie I, i think it was Boonie I. On another map I was trying to assign a MIrV a number and two were launched straight up. That only happened once.

Faobian, the gas giant Ahaza orbits, is something like 500gu wider then it should be. So when you try to orbit it, or send troops down to the surface of Ahaza, they hit the "edge" of Faobian and get destroyed.
And your bombs were launched straight up because you most likely had already assigned a MIRV that number and had yourself targeted.
ie. You target a planet and assign the number 1 to one of your torpedoes. If you assign another weapon the same number and keep the planet targeted, the torpedo you assigned first will be fired.

But really, what the heck is the deal with Gas Giants?
its like there is a invisable bubble arround any giant that kills you instantly.
