Whenever I try to play on the beta servers, the game loads and I can get to the team selection screen. At this point I choose a side but nothing happens. I wait and it says 'failed to login to meta-server.' Is there something wrong with my account or something is going on with the servers? I'd really like to know because I want to play!

I downloaded the beta client and then all the game files. Took a long time to achieve nothing.

Sounds like it may be your firewall?

No firewall...at least none that I know of. Besides, I can still play normal DarkSpace.

Windows ME
1100 mhz
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
Direct X 9.0

And normal DarkSpace works.
I've also seen unsubscribed players play on the server.

Maybe a problem with the download? Might want to try again.

Some people have issues with games if you do not put the folder where the game wants it to go. Did you change the default folder? I am not sure if this is even possible with DS but worth a try.

Also XP has a built in firewall not sure about your version, XP defaults to having the firewall active. You might want to check your internet options. Probably not an issue since you can play the regular version of DS.

Last I heard, you do not need to be a paying customer to play the beta version.

My guess is something happened during the download that may have corrupted a file.
