Defense bases now shoot down infantry right?
Well Rocketeer mentioned a great way to prevent them from being shot down. Just fly about 10gu toward the planet when you unload your troops. It keeps the troops in the tranny's hit box and prevents defense base lasers from destroying them.
Wise tactic? Cheap way to get around the defense bases? I can't say either way (I do know it's clever), but if you devs want to prevent this tactic, just make it so when infantry are unloaded, they drop away from the tranny like PCMs do rather than in a straight line. Might have to slightly increase their speed to compensate.
Personally, I like the fact that well-placed defense bases can help prevent capture by 1 lone tranny or station, and I don't wanna see a tactic like this make it possible again. But that's just me.
Thanks Rocketeer

No worse than shielding a bomb stack with your hull.

Still a valid tactic. all you have to do is get him to move

What do you mean by that Chromix? That sarcastic?
This is a problem, whether it's shielding infantry or bombs it's a problem.
EDIT: This isn't close orbit bombing I'm talking about anyway?
