I recently had to change my login name and I can't get it to stick in the menu in either live or beta. It shows former names I have used to log in but with this new one I am forced to type it every time.

I suppose I could reinstall but you can see how that's not a good long-term fix. At least the beta remembers your password now, but I can't use auto-login because I get a banned message, presumably because it is trying to use my old login.

Yep, no need to change the name at the login prompt after you renamed, however the name in the login prompt needs to be the name you initially created your account as.

Sorry I was so long getting back to this. I can't seem to use any login except my current player name in the game. This applies to live and beta. My original account name was taken by a demo account while I had a clan rank attached, so maybe that throws a big wrench in the works? It seems like we are talking about different issues, maybe?

In summary, I can only log in using my current in-game name, the password stays the same, and the login box will not remember my new valid login name. If I check the auto login, it uses only the Vesuvius*a* entry which is, of course, no longer valid.

This is annoying but not serious. I just wanted to give you guys a chance to put as much polish on the finished product as possible.

I just did further testing. It might be related to the fact that my new name is the first three letters of my old name. When I changed to a totally different name I was able to get it to stick in the login drop-down menu. Hope this helps root out the bug.

Edit: I found if you take a name, then use it to log in, then change it to the first three letters of the one you just used, it will not stay in the login drop-down menu. However, if you go the other way with it, choosing first a three letter name then a long version of it, it does not occur.

Is there any way to purge the previous login info besides uninstalling the program? I looked in the game directory but did not find the info stored in any of the ini files.

Thanks for the info, fixed it.
It'll appear in the next beta update.
Meanwhile you can directly edit the config.ini in your darkspace directory and change the name.
Make a backup of that file first.
