Ok first of all i would like to see that point defense shoots at ALL neutral things * asteroids *.
it would be a heck of a lot easier to navigate thru the fields.
ICC pulse beams
I have been able to try out that new point defense system.
Basicly it is that when your target is destroyed the laser starts recharging.
now my question is what will be the use of the pulse beam whit this? the CL500 was almost as fast in recharge as the Pulse beam. i mean this would give the UGTO and Kluth something VERY similar.
what changes will there be made to give the pulse beam the defense advantage again?

I beleive lasers will have an accuracy associated with them depending on the size of their targets and the size of the laser. Using lasers use as point defense as an example:
CL2000's and CL1000's will almost never hit fighters and missiles as they are intented to engage captial ships, CL500's and CL300's will have something like a 50-75% respective accuracy on fighters and missiles, while Pulse Beams will hit almost every time on fighters and missiles.
And since Pulse Beams will hit almost every time, the increased hull values of the fighters will become more of a problem for ICC to handle yes, but not degrading their point defense speciality to a point where its useless. Pulse Beams do very little hull damage yes, but, coupled with a Pulse Wave at close range (Pulse Wave damage will become concurrent to the distance a projectile is away I heard) fighters will still be relativly easy to handle by the ICC.

K'Luth don't have beam slots, with the exception of a single ELF on some ships.

Consider that K'luth and UGTO DB's use CL weaponry.
