Here's the situation:
Orbiting Planet A in my engineer. I switch to the Planet Management screen (F3) to get to work on the planet. Several times now, I'll inexplicably be destroyed by the planet I'm orbiting. No, it isn't defense bases FFing me. For some reason, the planet decides it's going to reach out and smack me, I guess.
It's happened in more than one system and varying planets. I don't know if the orbits are unstable or if part of the planet is wider than the other, and as it rotates, it hits my ship.

Must be a sync problem. I have noticed I am knocked out of orbit while just sitting there, and if the planet moves you're outta luck.

Happens to me all the time. It's like gambling every time I try orbiting or jumping to a planet. Every single death I have in the beta is from freak planet collisions I didn't see coming.
It's all related to the out of sync issues.
