shouldnt this be
increases enemy jumpdrive recharge by 10% ?
and what'll happen, if i jump through it
- nothing at all
- or do i get pulled out of jumping ?
and last but not least:
can we expect the command-ships buff-auras in near future too ?
edit says: are these auras stackable? [ This Message was edited by: NoBoDx on 2012-07-26 02:02 ]

It reduces the amount of energy going into recharging the JD, thus it takes longer.
It does not disrupt your JD or stop it from working, only makes it take longer to recharge.
Command Cruisers will have fields that negatively effect the enemy.
Command Dreads will have fields that positively effect allies.
The effects DO stack, even more so on ships that are enhanced.
Right now in beta, on the UGTO Interdictor cruiser, we have 3 auras to test.
The speed aura which increases velocity, turn rate, and thrust of allies by 4%
The damage aura which increases damage of energy and kinetic of allies by 4%
The jumpdrive disruptor which reduces JD recharge of enemies by some percent.

So, the WOW version of DS is here, then, I see.
If I wanted to play WoW, I'd be playing it.
I am so sad right now.....

No, the dev log information is correct. The device reduces the energy in-take per tic of all affected jump drives, thus increasing the recharge time but decreasing the recharge rate.

You won't get pulled out of jump anymore. You'll receive the effects of the aura (if you are supposed to or not depending on the device) as you enter the aura field and you'll lose the effects (if you had gained them) when you leave the field. If you're going at FTL speed, that'll happen pretty quickly

These are planned, I believe, but I don't know when we'll be seeing them in beta.

Yes, they are. As of right now their is no upper limit (besides 100%, mind you) but that may or may not change in the future.

Well, until we change enhancements to enchantments, I don't think that's the case.
I think 1.675 should include the Dungeon Raiding and Epic Loot, however. [ This Message was edited by: Fattierob on 2012-07-26 07:03 ]

I feel that this removes a lot of the role of the interdictor- for example, shutting down station spam or protecting missile ships. Now it's not fun to fly anymore.

Sigh.
Instead of just bashing the staff for no reason, why not try actually suggesting improvements or, at the very least, why you don't like what the changes going on are? That would actually be constructive discussion.

It is still possible to deploy planetary interdictors to shield from incoming attackers. [ This Message was edited by: Bardiche on 2012-07-26 08:02 ]

Yes, however they're not flexible like the actual ship.
I used to love flying interdictors. Now they're just another ship that I ignore because it'll be more worthwhile to have people in other ships.

The interdictor ship was a black sheep. Some people loved the idea of it, but whenever one was brought into play, people logged off, and action died down because the other side didn't enjoy it. I know it's fun to have to those who like using it, as are most things, but an alarmingly significant amount of the time it was brought into play, the player numbers dropped. Now I'm not sure about you, but personally I feel that making people log off so I have less people to shoot at (or no-one in some cases) doesn't do much for me as a player.
This was not a good mechanic to have in the game and made balancing the ship very difficult. We'd toyed with other ideas but felt that this was the best way to go forward, since we can now give the Interdictor ships slightly better combat roles, meaning the person who is flying them isn't sacraficing as much by doing so.
I'm not sure why you feel this is WoW-esque, as not even WoW has auras that negatively effect the enemy, but simply complaining for complainings sake with nothing to give back does nothing for anyone.

I guess I find additions to DS that require no skill to use as a negative. It seems that ya'll are constantly playing to the weakest link, which is fine, if it would bring some population back, but it seems to be having the opposite effect.

You say that like it required skill to fly an interdictor.
Population is a matter of advertising, fixing annoying little bugs that stop people playing, and getting the game to a point in which it's enjoyable for everyone and not annoying them and frustrating them to a point where they log off. [ This Message was edited by: Pantheon on 2012-07-26 09:02 ]

At the moment, I'm a Fleet Admiral.
An assault dread/support station/random cruiser etc. will be more useful then a 10% JD increase or a 4% increase in damage most of the time(with some exceptions for when a lot of people are on).
The rank for the 'interdictor' (command) cruiser is 2nd Rear Admiral.
At that point, the command cruiser probably is a good choice over the Combat Destroyer(or gunboat/assault/shell/claw).
However, when that person hits 1RA(at least on ICC) a Heavy/Strike/Border cruiser would roughly break even with an command cruiser's bonus to the team(assuming the team is maybe around 3-4 people, average nowadays).
When the person hits Admiral, then unless you have a big team, I would prefer a combat dread to a command cruiser.
Maybe the bonus should be something like a repair field: If you only have 3-4 people on, it would provide more than a whatever % bonus. If you have more people on, then you have a smaller bonus %(still a bigger actual bonus).
I found the interdictor annoying too. I just don't think that the command cruiser is up to par as a replacement at the moment. I'll think about it some more.

On a semi-unrelated note:
AI Elites(*cough* Fleet Admiral Ka'zora Martek *cough*) are the most annoying point in this game for me. I'm pretty sure that a lot of people would agree.
