Pretty self explanatory. It's rather disturbing to suddenly start getting friend messages that are part of a conversation between other people that you end up wishing you hadn't gotten. The way it works now seems totally backwards and would make more sense if adding someone let you get messages from them instead of send to them.

if you dont want messages from other people, use /friend removeselffrom [id number or name]
if your idea was implemented, then a person could add someone as friend, then listen (eavesdrop) on that person's private communications (with or without intention or notice of the victim person)
imagine steveyk being added to friend list of 1000 (insert word here) players. poor guy would have to use removeselffrom all the day.
