So...forgive me if this suggestion is lame or something. Im a bit new at this.
I was watching a couple epic spaces movies and notices the color's of the "main" lazers are diffrent for certian races, faction, empires etc. And i was wondering could the chem lazers for all 3 of our fractions have distinct colors?
ICC = Red
Kluth = Green
UTGO = Blue or Purple
Anyways just a thought some color would make it look more cool and epic

kluth already have the blue (elf beam). so we get green and blue kl.

off topic.. but a good suggestion.
A human ECM enhancement.
Cost -2500c
Trail Color Black (or trail off)
ECM visual effect off
speed -6%
Turnrate -6%
acceleration -6%
dont know how many times my position has been made due to the trails/ecm visual effect.

Hmm.
Well, if you were going to do that...
UGTO would have red lasers, I suppose, since they're red and white. Or I suppose they could be white, which might look cool;
ICC would have blue, for obvious reasons, although confusion might arise because their pulse beams are blue;
And K'luth don't use pathetic human technology, so they'd stick with their yellow disruptors, I suppose.

If ICC gets blue why not make the pulse a very light blue CL norm blue and HCL a dark blue

that would be nice if each faction is colourcoded. at this moment it is only seeable by the ship itself.

i agree wit this it wud be nice ICC get blue (dark and light) ugto can get white and luth stay the same wud be cool

It might be just me, but I have always thought that the current beam animations looked too thin.
But then I played Freespace 2 way too much, and I liike giant gargantuan beams that look like you're slicing something with a butter knife.

To be fair, Ent, the poor saps in those tiny fighters probably DO see our pathetic chemical lasers as ravening, instant-death apocalypse beams, it's just that we as warship commanders don't see this because our tactical displays are zoomed out too far.
...Someone should totally do a Freespace 2 DS mod, though, if only so that I have a screenshot I could post in response to the above.

Sounds very good!
ICC and UGTO beams look could differ more.
Maybe maybe not too color intense though?
Kluth beams are ok, the disruptor-yellow looks and sounds like acid.
UGTO: blazing light red.
And ICC blazing light blue.
