Way too often I'll log in to test things in beta only to find out one faction has had most of it's planets capped and has no mining planets, making it very difficult to spawn any ships. Part of it's because some players amuse themselves by trying to push another faction out, but most of it's because of the AI transport spam.

The beta map uses the same map file as the release map, so in order to disable AI anything in beta, we'd have to remove them from the map.. which would remove them in release as well.
Whatever you think of the release AI, it won't be happening.

So does this mean you can't keep planets at max res or disable requiring res for spawning?
Cuz it's annoying to want to test a different ship, only to have to mine for it >.> .

Something else I noticed is the resource transports seem to be broken in beta. They spawn when a starport is built, but just sit at whatever planet they're from and never shuttle resources around, if you want to get res to a SY planet you have to spawn an Extractor or Transport and shuttle it around yourself.

Not a bad thing.
