I appologize if this has been asked/answered before, but I could not locate a previous thread.

I would love to be able to specify specific trade routes. For instance when setting up a res planet, 99.999999% of the time, we want all the res to go to a specific planet, in most cases the SY planet. It would be great if we could specify what planets the RES will be sent too rather than have it distributed throughout the all the planets. This would make the current distribution system useable as we normally turn the star ports off and only turn them on to manuallly grab the res to transport to another location. I never have a starport running 24/7. (Speaking in the Scenario server)

Yes, pls.

That would mean that we have new civilian vessel designs. And we can kill or protect those civvies. It can't just be military ships flying around in space, can it?

If the player could set the star port to import, export or both that would limit the AI nu such way trade routes can be formed.

be interesting.... new pirate designs, to prey on the Merchant Marine carrying the supplies maybe? it'd make mines far more useful than they currently are... plus it would be neat to see people making "Wolf Packs" to hunt the convoys carrying supplies....

Planets are already using up a sizable portion of the server load due to simulation - trade routes would add quite a bit to this. Whilst it's something that adds depth to the economy, it's something that A) we're not in a hurry to mess with and B) is not high on the priority list.

If the idea is too complex, how about Wild Cats idea?

Just a little toggle switch to say that the starport only exports, imports, or exports/imports.
