More range for mounting on big ships and more oomph for taking out tougher projectiles.
Thoughts? PLs are an ICC specialty, but they're not terribly useful Dread+ due to range. Not saying they're pointless, just that Pulse Waves shouldn't be the only option when the faction already has a Pulse Laser available.

all projectiles and fighters have the same health, making a larger pulse beam which hurts more is pointless.
They need range increases based on hull class attached to them, currently they are useless on anything but escort or small ships due to the horribly limited range. (give them a 500gu range on stations, for example)
They often do not fire on large ships before the missile reaches splash range, and most of the time they dont fire AT ALL before the missiles hit you unless you are running away

For some reason I thought some projectiles required multiple hits. Probably just projectiles/fighters heading outside of CL range while the animation's still playing.
I concur about increased range for large ships, and that's with regular PL. I think it would be most excellent to have a rapid firing / gatling PL that you can put in a heavy slot.

The problem with a rapid firing pulse laser is that pd only checks for things one time every second.
if it fires faster, why have it? this is why pulse beams reload a little under a second. they are ALLWAYS able to shoot something down each tick unless you are out of power

THanks to Elledore, i have Tested Pd system, indeed i was wrong, and jack was Right, all Beams do act same, the difference of Why we see someitme sluth having more active PD is this
i Tested with ele, when he fired a volley of IT from his Md (stock loadout) i would only have 1 Laser Firing a sPD every second, However, WHen he fired ALL misisles my laser count climbed to 3 at least,
ALso tested a Full salvo fired 1 by 1, PD first tracked 3 lasers per second,s and as Numbers of missile slowered, Pd went to 2 and then 1 per second
PD system seems to be Putting more Lasers as PD say per 8 Miisles in the air(roughly not actually counted) and sinc luth Usually operates more near enemy planets sometimes than other races. THey get lots of misile stracked on them when they unclaok, thus seeign lots of Laser PD
Its not base on how many misisle sflying in the air, its based on how many is locked on you
at least, thats how i saw the system work, Elledore was suposed to check it out and confirm it
Now, Since ICC is the missiles faction, UGTO/luth rarly spam as much missiles thuse no matter how Much Pulse we put, only 1 will Activate per second, unless you sell all uggies get in Missiles cruisers
Best way woul be to yes, make the Pulse longer range, at least matching the HCL, Its firepower is not needed to be upped, please its not Shoop da woop there, its a PD Defensif Weapon [ This Message was edited by: Zero28 on 2010-05-05 21:19 ]

heavy pulse laser, this isn't Eve online!
we really don't need it. just extend the range of the pulse laser, issue fixed.
