As the devs are rescaling the size of DS ships and the guppy was replaced :_(, it got me thinking of how long ago that new Weaponry for the ICC, UGTO, or K'luth (for the matter of fact) has come out. ICC rail guns (to me any way) and UGTO Particle cannons are starting to feel a little out of date. the K'luth I can't say much because I haven't played as them as much as I have ICC or UGTO

rules of this Adventure
Weapons and Defenses Are allowed I.E. guns, armor, countermeasures, etc....this also includes fighter class ships or anything that can be mounted on a ship

1.*Required* Name of weaponry

2.*Required* Faction

3.*Required* Status, i.e: in development, experimental, prototype, etc.

4. Short detail of how this weapon works

5. *Required* Limit of 3 weapons per Person

6. Stay within the Confines of Darkspace fiction but funny business will be allow, just for the sake of fun

I intend for this topic to a brain storming of sorts. Something for the devs to take ideas from the DS community for possible update or upgrades to ships in the future. Please, however for the sake of server space, Limit your Posts.

Note: DO NOT TAKE THIS AS THERE WILL BE UPDATES TO SHIP WEAPONRY UNLESS A DEV SAYS OTHERWISE.

Took this from my post in the beta forums. Its a new type of core wep.


The new names would be.


Plasma Torpedo (UGTO) Scientists have finally found a way to get a stable plasma shot to yield a high damage return. The Device is still experimental but the pressing war with ICC and now the K'luth has forced the UGTO's hand.

Tachyon Torpedo (ICC) Experimenting with Tachyon Particles, ICC scientists have found a way to compress these particles into a torpedo. Fired much like how the Ion Cannon fires this torpedo has a good damage rating. With the war worsening with the UGTO and K'luth the ICC quickly press this experimental device into service.

Bio Organic Torpedo (K'luth) Our brethren have found a new way to mutate our ships to provide us with a new device. Its a device that fires out an organic ball of flesh that when it comes into contact with any non living martial it immediately explodes, leaving an acid that melts through armor. My brethren we must use this new device to destroy the humans and the MI.



These are all torp based guns with about a 400, 600, 800 gu range respectively of there factions. A new experimental ship could be made mounted with these guns on them. ICC for example would take a HC and modify it with the new gun. The rank needed for the ICC and UGTO ships would be Vice Admiral but the K'luth one be 1st Rear Admiral. The ships would be loaded out with 2 of the new weapons.

new weapons?


i like the above post for torps n stuff, but how about this for the core weapons?


ICC: Ion railgun.

same range as the ion cannon, half the damage, but FAST.

Uglys:

Hellfire torpedo. half the damage of QST, but it tracks like torps used to

Bugs:

Stellar inferno. half the range, half the rate of fire, twice the damage of SI


obviously stats would be open for tweak, but the ideas out ther enow =)

"Grail" for short

Well my original was heavy cannon but that "type" got implemented long ago, its a replacement for the Torpedo which at this moment in time has no swappable weapon

4. Short detail of how this weapon works
Railcannon fires a burst of 5 rounds like

The Grail fires a dual shot, see it as a Twinbarrel railcannon.

Damage could be calculated like that as well, dont even have to mess with most stats.

5. *Required* Limit of 3 weapons per Person
Well only have this one for now.
