Just for the hell of it, and who knows? Perhaps we'll see one of our ships featured some day in the future.

What I was thinking of... (And you may point and laugh at me for this):

Faction: UGTO
Class: Scout
Name: Missile Corvette
Rank: Midshipman (?) (Modify as you see fit - I dunno if this is too powerful or not.)

A Corvette specifically modified and designed for hit-and-run missile attacks. Cannons and Point Defense weaponry have been sacrificed to fit more launcher mounts.

Drive Mounts:
1x IE Drive (Aft)

Jump Drive 1 Mounts:
1x Tachyon Drive (Aft)

Armoring:
1x Standard Armor (Fore)
1x Standard Armor (Right)
1x Standard Armor (Left)
1x Standard Armor (Aft)

Special 1 Slot:
1x ECM (Aft)

Standard Mounts:
None

Launcher Mounts:
2x AR Missile (Left/Fore/Right)
1x Sabot Missile (Left/Fore/Right)
1x Sabot Missile (Fore/Left)
1x Sabot Missile (Fore/Right)

OR:
2x Sabot Missile (Fore/Right)
2x Sabot Missile (Fore/Left)

The basic leap-and-go of this vessel is simply to provide an alternative to the Assault Corvette, and allow people to do old-fashioned hit and run strategies reminiscent of missile strikes in today's warfare.

I think having 4 armor plates on all sides is silly. Maybe 1 Full or a (1 aft/fore 1 port/starboard) configuation.

Also weapons should be something like this, IMHO:


1x IT Missile (Fore)
1x AR Missile (Fore/star)
1x AR Missile (Fore/port)
1x Ar Missile (Fore/star/port)
1x Sabot (Fore/star)
1x Sabot (Fore/port)


also, what about rank/badge requirements?

Rank/Badge is Midshipman, but the DS staff may decide that more-so; I really don't know where this ship'd fit in.

Also, it's meant for a quick hit 'n run, so an IT Missile might be redundant.

For the moment i think we already have enough ships.
Currently in 484 some ships will be removed (ICC cruisers).
Maby afther we get the game ballanced, the Dev's might take the time to add some more ships, at the moment its not a good idea.
But that dousn't mean we can't dream. right


OK first off in my oppinion all corvets should be ranked Midshipman, so people who aren't on sub- can still enjoy the game to some extent.
However i don't mind giving some of those ships badge requirement, if i recall UGTO assault corvet had a "Bronze combat badge" requirement in the past.

Ok Bardiche looking at your Setup;
First up its looks nice but there is one mix i can't realy accept, UGTO + Sabot. Sabot requires ammunition and if i recall correctly the ammo faction is ICC. So sorry, this won't do for me.

Next FattieRob looking at your Setup;
First about the armor that's a verry nice idea, that plus two ecm for cover should do the trick.
Weapons its a good combination but it would stick this one on a ICC corvet becous of the Sabot.

Ok new i gave comments, you might be mad,sad or agree. But you still would say, if you know so good why don't you make one, well here i go.

Why still have the PD CL? Becous no ship should go whitout it! No ship should be limited to reply on others for protection

Name: M 24 Escort Corvette
Rank: Midshipman
Badge Requirement: Silver Navigator, Bronze combat

With the comming of the k'luth ICC quickly needed a cheap but decent corvette to escort trade convoys.
Minuete Shipyard Crew answerd by pointed to one of there pet projects.

Lol both of the corvettes will be gutted fusion torps be put in and these will terrorize cruisers to the point of a few of these taking out dreads this would be annoying especially with special weapons getting nerfed

First; A destroyer isn't large enough to house two fighter bays.
Second; Remove the Pulse shield and chance some CL to Pulse Beams and it will be called Escort Destroyer MKII.

Reality check for eveyr one:
If you wan't to create new ships, don't think about 483 or anny other version.
Clear your mind of the past, read the Dev logs talk to the Dev's and play beta a bit.
Than go read about the three factions and think what there strategies will be.
If you can do that, then you will have no problem in creating ballanced ships with each there own strenghts and weaknesses.

I dont think anyones talking about more cruisers or ships their talking about replacing some ships. That first cruiser with the fighters is basically a border cruiser. Some configurations will be more realistic/changed when you consider you wont be able to swap lasers for cannons, etc. Could even add that youc ant switch missles for torps.
