* [=TB=]Enterprise @39933 sent to Friends: "We need true cluster missiles."
* You sent to 4 Clanmembers: "cluster missiles......hm.......anti-camping missiles - it fires along a parabolic path and then releases multiple torpedeo warheads at a certain distance (500gu)"
* You sent to 4 Clanmembers: "it woudn't track, it'd be a dumbfire missile..."

Well, do you think it would make any sense?

Good idea. Maybe a antistation weapon. The missle I think should be guided but the "torps" shouldn't be.

Well, the reason I didn't want it guided is because it means it can track small fast ships - that seems unfair. I originaly thought of it as an "anti-camping" missile.

eh missiles = lag, so in generaly id make em more powerfull, but less missiles, who is guided. That way it will get less lag. Missiles with torps and figthers etc just makes lot of lag...
Anyways i think they already done something about the missiles already...

Sounds interesting.

Maybe a missle similar to a daisy cutter, where it'll fly over a target (or near in this case) and explode, sending a shower of smaller missles/bombs on the target. Would be a good thing for a command dread/stations to have.

Dont think it would be on every dread/station, but the Command Class of each class.

Doing this so it hits smaller targets would make much more sense. Lots of small projectiles would do next to nothing to a larger ship.

.....say what?

yes. yes it would. if the ship is not moving, or moving slowly...

it's not like it's launcher shrapenel. it's launching low-grade torpedeos. or even SABOT rounds.

Well when I said that the missle should be tracked I meant it should be a slow and not very agile missle.Close to dumb but not retarded.

On another note, You could go two ways about it, Dummy projectiles, Simple and lots of them, or Have a Missile that at about 800 GU fires out into several Small version of Fusion Torps, Like said, But instead of Lots of Shrapnel, They be fairly large, And about 6, As, With ICC, Shrapnel weapons are just going to bounce off their Shields..

Sabot Shower Missile launchers sound cool. Maybe with torp showers make the torps detonate automatically once they hit a hight value of the game's plane level so they still do splash damage.

on the other hand is such a missile doable in DS? never seen anything flying over a target to swamp an area.

still love the idea, you take that kind of missile and your more successfull on small ship intercepting but when a cruiser comes near you your in trouble.
