I am gonna repeat a weapon idea that i hd submitted so so long ago. i am sure it will be ignored as all my ideas have been, even those that had popular support.

Jump disruption Torpedo (or Beacon)

Simple: A torp that is it hits your ship, resets and/or even damages/disables your JD. In the best implimentation of such a device, it would be available to Dreads and Stations only. Gives dreads a chance to actually kill something without necessarily needin escort ships.

To keep it from being whined about (I know, EVERYTHING, even free money, would be whined about in this game), make it slow moving, slow reloading, energy sucking. Perhaps set it up to automatically reset drive (as tho target had just jumped) but allow x% chance of disabling/destroying drive. Perhaps rather than destroying the drive, if a succesful destruction roll were cast, the drive would be depleted of fuel.

I have dozens of other weapon/device ideas too. But thisone would reall give a solo flying dread a chance to be something other than a pres farm for nearby enemy dessies. In my claw, when I see dreads, I see targets, not the least bit of apprehension about a one on one engagement. A jump disruption weapon might make me really think at least for a splt second about whether I wan to kill an EAD. Knowing the chance exists that I may not be able to jump away would perhaps influence the decision.

You're not really meant to solo fly a dread. It's a team game, work as a team. If you want to stop someone jumping, use an interdictor.

Kluth are about the only ones that can, and they're recommended to fly in small groups.

We already have the Interdictor which fulfills this purpose. There isn't any real need for another device that duplicates this functionality.

We once had EAD's/AssaultDreads with jumpdisruptors.

No.... we don't want that back. In whatever form.

I think the torpedo would be redundant, as the dreaded interdictor field has already been implemented on ships and planets
