Righto,
atm in release the starmap works fine except 1 point.
when you zoom out you will go from system details to general overview.
the planets fade out however this fadeout is to fast.
i have had multiple times i was unable to "lock" on to a planet cuz it faded out to fast.
a change in that would be appreciated.
also cruisers/higher are visible on the starmaps... not a sensor icons but when i zoom into a planet is can see them sit there as if my camera was hovering above em. handy? YES .... flawed YES

I fail to see the problem, it works as intended, as a navigational starmap, it can also serve as a kind of sensor grid.

I like how you didn't read any of that backy
he said that, that planets disappear too fast when you zoom out. And I agree. It's quite annoying to try to find something and having to bounce from noun to noun with zoom in and zoom out.

It works as intended... You zoom out to get a look at the entire MV, and then back to a system. I've never had a problem with zooming in and out, and losing planets...

oh. you've never had a problem with it
well, then it's perfectly fine then.
All I'm saying is, can we fudge it just a little bit?

If you change how the starmap works, to use your word, fudge it a bit, someone else will complain that planets don't disappear fast enough. Fact is the speed right now is pretty good, it's not perfect, but it's good enough for most players.
As for the zoom in thing, I agree...I don't see why the nav menu uses an actual updated pic of what's going on...why not just take a static pic of the background/star/stuff that doesn't move, throw a layer with planets on there (updated) and another layer with the little icons you see.
But perhaps my understanding of how it works is flawed, and really, it's not a big exploit. With the size of the MV and the zooming you need to do to see ships you'll only see ships you know are there really...

Its ok in my opinion. No single way will be the best, so keeping it as it is good. That way more time can be spent on fixing or making newer things. Like they say if it isnt broke, dont fix it
