Okay. I had this random idea to basically 'fix' darkspace and it's problem of not being able to have quickfixes to problems that arise, and being stuck in "suck" mode for the greater part of a year plus.
Basically, it involves making a kind of GUI for admins to use.
These admins then can log into the server, like how they do with the map editor, and then make "changes" to the server that does not affect the code that faustus is working on. This allows them to make "quick numerical fixes(Ie: recharge rates, damage, etc)" to the game that might have an impact in the long term. When Faustus does make a new version, he could, if he so desired, see what was "changed/balanced" and improve upon what they did.
It basically allows them to have the power faustus has with the game, except it doesn't do any damage to the work Faustus does.
It's like having your cake, and eating it to.
This game focuses on things that, where such a small error in calcuations or balancing, can ruin the game...
pros:
lol, fixes darkspace
more power to admins to do events
cons:
distracts faustus from time to make long-term fixes and such
Might be impossible with the way darkspace is set up in terms of resourcer and whatever else is behin closed doors.
