I have seen this feature used on the minimap in GuildWars and think it would be an excellent feature to add into DarkSpace.
You would be able to draw directions directly onto the nav map when holding down a certain key. Players could have an option to show these directions as an overlay on thier normal playing view, or see them directly when viewing the nav map.
It may not seem like it would be of much use, but having seen it used elsewhere it can easily become a very valuable feature in co-ordinating fleet movements. Possibly being able to choose your own custom colours would be helpful, or maybe even limiting the ability to ranks FA and GA.

Excellent idea. This could be extremely useful for tracking down damaged ships as well. I'm 100% for it.

Planetside has something similar to this, once you reach cr3 you can draw on teh map...it would be hard to impliment however much fun it would be though...

Actually this concept has already been discussed and placed on the future implementation pile some many patches down the road...

Was considered about 18 months ago... But as its a ways off and low priority, we havent made any public comments about it.

Its a great feature in GuildWars; it'd be awesome to see some variant of it here.
