Currently if you are in a system and select a remote planet, it displays already it's structures and such. Since this is not much use (IMHO). Therefore this could be disabled and only if your are in a certain range be activated.

i disagree.
when your ingame you should always keep tabs on your factions frontier planets.
inf levels, structures turned off, resource levels..... that kinda stuff...

Use F3, that helps, but if your 25kgu rfom a planet you dont need to *see* the icons for defense bases. Since you anyway have it in the status window.

yah ur right the little dimomds from planets should be tatken away expecally when you are so far away sometimes you cant even target the planet cause u cant click on it

actualy if you knew the diamonds dont display untill you are close to the planet. PLUS you do not instantly get the info when you click on the planet, when you click on a planet it updates the area and the object you are clicking on. The area is controled via your /focus setting, other than that you dont already have the info of the planets in remote systems instantly. In the UK I actualy notice a good 3-7 second lag because my system is fetching the planet data.
