I think that Hydrogen and Oxygen should be required to construct hubs, domes, all food structure.
If these structures also consumed these resource in the same way some consume power, or population consumes food this could enhance the economic engine.
I think this would be more beneficial to game play by slowing the initial expansion following MV resets to the most useful (resource rich) planets first. It would make some planets more dependent on these planets, it would enhance the stategic worth of some planets, beyond how they have been built, i.e. SY or mods planets.

That stuff is freaking everywhere. Hardly a economic challenge.
What would be cool was if Mines would only extract ore, and then you could have a whole chain of production and economy and player-owned companies and fleet cartels and K'luth clans fighting for control and low orbit refinery stations and.. . . .... .. ... Go DarkSpace 5...

Sure and you just happen to be in a system whit a 1 terran planet that ONLY has Oxygen and no Hydrogen.
rest of the planets is all barren....
have fun flying back and forth
think its a good idea it adds some realety to the game
