I think there should be a higher class pulse laser that only support class ships, such as Engineer and extractor, can use. And make them start with it so people don't need to go to a shipyard for it.

A CL300 on an extractor does nothing besides blow up asteriods.. It is useless.
Pretty much the same with the M-125 Engineering ship or whatever it is, unless you want 3 lasers and 3 sabots.. It should have 3 high end point deffence lasers.

*shrug* thats about it.. I mainly play engineer because I make good planets.. And I don't think we get enough love. We get no more love from players than crappy engineers, so at least we should from the game and for getting gold engineer.

the M125 already does a damn good job in PD if you use it half-decent, no bomber frigate can do to much damage.

The range isn't long enough on the CL lasers it uses unless its on a very very small moon.

so, you have to act, not just sit there.

pulse laser has even less range btw.

how do you act when in F3 screen constantly and building 3 planets? :/

Only time you have to do anything is when waiting for the first 20 tech.

you can build from tactical too, you know.. only use f3 for orientation

keeping situation aware is the key in darkspace..

why does an extractor need defenses? just mount 3 ecm and nobody can shoot you.

Dont touch the engineer ships. they are purfect as is. IMHO the extractor is too. i dont want arrogent extractors comming into my planets and mining, then me Not being able to chase him away.

extractors and engineers are Support to have escort, thats why this game is good cause u have to play with team work.
