I dont like the little mass of stars/specs of light that are around ships now. All it does is give me a headache.

Yeah what is that crud? I mena I know it's supposed to be space dust to give you a sense of movement...

So here's a suggestion, instead of having it hover around your ship, when you move, make the dust streak, so it looks like your moving...

would make sense anyway, If you ever cammed still point in space and watched them fly by, you'd realize that these ships move FAST

which is another point.. guys quit whining about the speed differential... In real life, there IS no such thing as a maximum speed... constant thrust = constant acceleration... so the only real difference should be how FAST these ships can over come inertia and accelerate or deaccelerate... which is the way it pretty much is... though there is a speed differential, so be glad

No constant acceleration... the engines would eventually top out and couldn't speed the craft up any faster than it is going.

Bob- F = M/A, rearranges to A=M/F. Acceleration = mass divided by force. An engine won't "top out" Except when approaching the speed of light, because mass increases, but that would mean all ships had nearly identical maximum speeds. Fortunately this is a game and physics means precisely squat.

We had streaky stars for a while, but there were complaints that it was making people ill, so they were removed.

Course, they would streak whenever you moved the camera, not the ship, so it could make you a bit dizzy...

I liked the Stars effect we had in beta for a while.
It shouldnt show when you move the camera though, only when the ship moves.

I Love the current star dust effect thing. It made my destroyer looks really fast yesterday
