Fleet Vault (Suggestion) |

Here's a suggestion, lets say fleets have the option of opening a vault in which money is generated and donated to and the fleet's leader can regularly equally split this money between its active players or give it to the newer players that need these credits.
Money will be generated from its players through missions, lets say fleets can set a percentage between 1 and 15 that will determine how much credits a person earns in a mission goes to the fleet vault instead of the player himself.
Lets say a person earns 46,000 credits in a planet defense mission, if the fleet's tax is 15%, 6,900 of those creds will goto the fleet vault and 39,100 will goto you.
And when money is equally split, it is only split between players who have logged in in the two weeks before the money was split.
Donations to the vault will be unrestricted.

I like the idea.
posted something similar a few months ago
in that idea a fleet would get credits for owning planets.
each planet type gave a steady income.
barren's almost nothing but a terran planet would give the most.
each week the fleet would get credits and from those credits the admin could give the members some kind of salary OR buy more defenses/addons for the fleets homeplanet/faction home planet.

Great idea here. Imagine the amount of creds for big fleets

itd also be neat if fleets could tax citizens of planets they own, thus rewarding active participation in MV with cash for the fleet. the problem being it could be exploited and someone could set up a *cash planet* where it was just domes and farms....
i guess it wouldnt matter thouigh because theyd be sacrificing alot of defense for it.
also if ship capping gets in itd be nice to be able to sell captured ships for cash, ud have to make dreadnaughts and the like REAL hard to cap tho otherwise ppl would be making millions

I like this idea and larks add-on.
With how hard it is to cap a ship it could even be a fairly high percentage of the base cost of the ship. I'd say for clans all ship capture credits go to the clan vault, and be 25% of base cost. While a freelancer capping a ship should get the money but less say 12.5%. So the loner gets less total but, he gets it not a fund that breaks down into even smaller parts.

we could go so far as to have fleets set up trade routes between their planets, or those of another fleet (maybe even outside the faction?) of various civilian products to generate cash. could have a galactic economy =) it could end up being one of the targets of an invading force, since destroying an enemies economy would be a big hit

Might be nice to allow for a really limited savings in terms of fleet taxes. The idea of taxing citizens, or skimming a bit off the top of your currenly-owned planets sounds like a good idea, but I would say we should only save a very limited percentage of those credits to the fleet vault. However, any current ownings would give you a larger "disposable income" fund.
This would allow for fleets to have a bit of income in general, but make attacks on fleet-owned planets have more of an impact. Say you own 20 planets, each worth 100,000 credits (arbitrary numbers, to demonstrate my point). Your "Available Resources" could be something like 10% of each planet, in a general fund: basically, when you mod a ship or whatever, you charge it to the planet accounts. So in this case, you'd have 200,000 credits available to spend. If you use that up, you have to wait for the income to regenerate - for the check to go through, more or less. This could be compounded hourly. If you use up the account, you can dip into clan coffers (say, 1% of the 10% contributing your account), and once that's empty, you have to use personal savings.
This means that having a few planets would save you the trouble of having to pay for things immediately, but having a system taken over could lose you a quarter of your income. So, strategic strikes against enemy planets would be possible, to deprive them of cash for modding.
Obviously, these numbers would need work, because you'd be able to mod only about 3 ships with 20 planets. But, you get the point - contributions would be fairly small, to provide a bit of a benefit, but also allow for greater strategic strikes.
