Development Log:
- The K'Luth bio-bomb now only kills enemy units, it no longer causes any damage to the structures on the planet.
First I would like to start off by saying if anyone has started a thread on this subject, I'm sorry for repeating it, the search engine is down, but if you could happily point me to the proper thread, I would be much obliged...
Anyways, I am a bit concerned with the new kluth bio bomb. Not being able to damage structures? I know Faustus doesn't like bombing, but they need some sort of bomb to damage structures, either in the MV to knock out deathstars without having to get MIRVs, or in FA killing hubs to delay the enemy's progress, a structure damaging bomb is needed IMO....
Dunno though, any other thoughts on the subject?

well
A.) there's no more deathstars as such
B.) you can refit MIRVs if needed
C.) FA is going away.

I totally agree with Sandal, the new bio bombs are actually an advantage

Defense bases have been toned down in beta, because bomb limits have been imposed... PLUS, since you have to mine resources to actually get any good ships, you should see much fewer planets with nothing by ECM/ECCM/DB

Also, can't inf be landed on structures now? Won't that eliminate deathstars as they exist now? If that is true, that may be an advantage for the K'luth, as they can wipe off the invaders a bit more easily without the collateral damage...

I think the biobombs actually strip pop from a planet too, not sure if I heard that correctly, but that would also be a great improvement. Commit genocide on the defenders, then just ill up all the buildings with your people after your done.

Finally, Bio Bombs only killing inf can be seen as a good thing for the K'Luth.
Think about it. You want to take a planet intact (for the colony hub, or whatever), but there are troops stacked on each building. If you use a MiRV, the building will be destroyed. If you use a Bio Bomb, you can kill the Inf, and take the planet intact.

Yeah, the new bio bombs may make them more useful than MiRVs, as you can nuke the troops/population off a deathstar, than send your inf to cap

muahaha. What are the chances of also allowing bio-bombs to damage/kill infantry in your targets cargo hold?

question if theres a limit on bombs, are you trying to gently move bombing outta the game or just eliminate cloud bombing?

You have to mine all resources now or just metal/heavy metal/hydrogen like in the 'old' beta?

You need the majority of resources for the majority of ships, though there are some that don't need the more exotic ones, but the big ships can use quite a bit of them. It varies from ship to ship.

With cannons like they are now, who needs anything above scouts?
