As a fan of new classes of ships, i am proposing a new class of Supply ship for the ICC.
Combat Supply ship [ ICC ]
Hull classes: Cruser Class
Cruser Class: Heavily armored support
5 IE drives
1 Reload/Repair drones slots
5 sheild slots. 1 full 1right 1left 1rear 1front
1 JD
5 cl 500s
1 Ecm
4 cargo hold space
This special class of Supply ship will be more able to support Ships in heavy combat Zones of future conflicts with our enemys the kluth and UGTO. The BRICK class of supply that is currently deployed is a hearty mainstay for our frontline units. But the short commings of the "Brick Class" ( as it lovingly referd to as) are most evident. Speed and suriviability are the two main reasons we hope to have this new class of ship.

I had suggested a Supply Cruiser class ship but it was shoot down. it had two repair and four pluse beams, with a full armor hvy and four shields. i think that was what it was. i'll have to look at it. I WISH THEY WOULD MAKE A CRUISER CLASS REAPIR SHIP!

To the idea:
A combat supply is never a good idea, nor is a combat ship with its own supply (besides station).
To the ship itself:
I wouldn't exactly call that combat... And with the point defense system as it is now (one missile at a time) the CL500's woudn't come in very handy, even if substituted for pulse beams.
And yes, reduce your sig. I got cable, but some people don't.

its a supply ship that is more able to be in combat situations. thats why i call it a combat supply. is it supposed to be a wonder ship? no. i think that the 5 engines allow for a good ammount of power allowing a scanner or eccm or pulse sheild to be in the special. As you know the Kluth have powerfull hit and run tactics, this class will allow a supply to better fulfill a gap on the field of battle. More Defense for the supply ship is what is needed. and this new Adv. supply will help bring more ICC ships back home.

I totally agree with this one, I think the supply ships are quite unbalanced to the detriment of the ICC. One drive?! Really, a second drive is fine.
And on the topic of a supply cruiser. NO. A supply is NOT meant for work in combat situations anyhow. They are designed to work behind friendly lines on ships requiring repair/reload services. They were given minimal combat abilities for a reason. Say, for example, a cruiser can kill a dreadnaught because it has a supply ship? In a semi-real situation drones would do jack if the hull they are repairing is just getting hammered with torps.

When designing ships it would be a good idea to keep in mind the limitations already imposed on them. For example a cruiser only has 3 engines. Putting on more would effectively create a crusier with the speed and manouverability of a scout, not REALLY such a good idea. And there is already a combat supply, It's called the UGTO Heavy Supply ship... (gotta love them flux beams)

The number of drives only affect the acceleration, turn ratio and max speed is determined by class not by drives
