This Poll is on the overall speed of the game, combat wise.
Do you feel that this games combat is too slow? Too fast? Or just fine as it
is now?
Do you -
1) Speed needs to be extremely increased, Jump Drive engines take less time to charge, weapons do more dammage and hull decrease extremely.
More Aradeish approach. One on one combat takes less than 20 seconds.
2) Speed needs to be increased, Weapons do more dammage but hulls stay the same.
Mild Arcadeish approach. One on one combat takes 30 secs to 1 min.
3) Leave speed as is, no changes.
4) Speed needs to slow down a bit, only thing changed is hull values increased.
Mild Real Time Tactics Approach. Speed slows to combat one on one for 5 -10 minutes.
5) Speeds to be dramatically reduced to near Real- Real Time. JUmp Recharge takes longer, Weapons are more diverse and more strategized and les powerful. HUlls are increased massively.
The most realisic you can get approach. Ship to ship combat can take 10 minutes plus.
So vote! Can only choose one and no makeing new ones! I will bump bump bump this thread up on a weekly basis for a month to see .
And I choose 5).

Well, all choices aside, I like mine.
All combat times are fine, except concerning large capital ships. Ships like dreadnoughts and stations take far too little to kill.

as it is now, combat in the MV can already last 30 seconds to 1 minute..
personally i vote 5 of course.

As cool as the game is, I'd like a more tactical approach, like a thinking captain kind of game, not a gung ho gamer's game. Not saying I dont like the game as it is though.

Undecided. But 5 looks good otherwise.
After all, we dont want to waste a bunch of money on ships that will only last 30 secs. And we dont want this game to be like CR....

nice post .. i agree with a more realistic Feel to the game. If i wanted a easy a shoot'em up space game id Dust off Asteroids. In All honesty, Id like there to be some more REALISM to the MV as well. yeah yeah the learning Curve would be too Steap i know i know... but for god sakes even a monkey can learn 10 words.

Personally, i think 1 v 1, the game is perfectly fine as it is. Ive had some duels that lasted a long time. Maybe a reduction in some weapons would help, but im thinking a change to some ship layouts, armour levels and weapon ranges would be more appropriate than a general reduction in all weapons, etc.
So whilst im all for 5, it has to be done the correct way

but not the jumpdrives, the speed is just right
recharge rate could use some changeing but, thats about it
Some weapons need to be better and some need to do less damage. The Idea of the % to hit with lasers would help that out alot.
And really Why shoudl i mod a ship that is going to die in 60 seconds or less
I may be one of the few people who always have a problem about the first system blowing up is the jumpdrive, and ageinst a bad guy is always the last system that dies, ageinst a bad guy ship.
And my Record for the times that my tractor beam was still useable while everysystem was at 0~3%, is about 97% (if you must know the other 3% was hitting a huge pocket of both Emp/nuke mines)

Hei what about:
i like 3 but with one exeption!
On the dreads: (and maybe hives/stations)
hull and armor values increased, and make em just a little faster.
Reason: Coz everytime i feel like flying dread in the FA i usually end up dead Not that i am a good/bad player. Its just that it seems modded cruisers even 1, do so much damage on my Dread that i have to leave for gate/suplier or ending up in a cascet
Hmm making some new Dread only weapons could maybe tip the balance too. well just mu sugestion.

I vote 5, but only the Dreadnought/Station's hull gets dramatically increased..... Right now we need to shift the power from the destroyers and cruisers to the ships that are SUPPOSED to be the most powerful, dreadnoughts and stations.
