After talking with Shigernafy about the profile display, he mentioned that the missing medals weren't really missing, but had never been. He also said that if I wanted to, I was welcome to come up with new ones.
Well, after screwing around in photoshop for a long time trying to recreate the medals pixel by pixel, I gave up. But while searching for something else I stumbled upon a tool which allowed me to edit the color balances of existing images. Through this, I have tweaked the existing Star and Bomber medals and come up with some (temporary at least) replacements for the missing versions.
Please give feedback of which two versions of the two medals (Bronze Star and Gold Bomber) you think is better. Hope to see these soon in a profile near you!
BRONZE STAR (Version 1)
BRONZE STAR (Version 2)
SILVER STAR (Current DS Version)
GOLD STAR (Current DS Version)
BRONZE BOMBER (Current DS Version)
SILVER BOMBER (My Version)
GOLD BOMBER (Version 1)
GOLD BOMBER (Version 2)

none of your images work, at least on my screen...

EDIT: NM, I see them now...weird....
They looks good....

Yes. I had originally used the [IMAGE] tag instead of the [IMG] tag. I fixed it immediately, but by then 11 of you had already looked at the post. LOL. I also prefer Version 1 of the Bomber, and I thought I liked Version 1 of the Star as well but now I'm not as sure.

Ahh, well that would involve creation instead of tweaking. 8) I will try sometime in the future, but I dunno.

Do you know what your missing?...
The ribbons that are apart of all medals... Also Medal Ribbons...
Ribbons showed Military tours and such....
Gives more color and eye apeel
Plus Pentara give them a good buff or shinny
You can also see these medals to and also compare and maybe add some more definition to them...

See what I am saying Pen? Needs some more just a little more and you''ll have it perfect...
One more thing we are missing is Rank Insignia and Uniform arm Patches...

Just as a note...
If ANYONE out there wants to add some badges (if you think a new design would work better than the current one), feel free to work up some designs.. they will at least be considered (no promises for implementation, but I promise I will at least look at them and ask).
Additionally, if you want to try to develop some new medals or badges, feel free.. just include what you think they should each require to earn them.
So get creative.. perhaps someone wants to make a scouting badge?..
We might also be able to add some medals and stuff like theG mentioned.. just need a reason for them... but I imagine a new concept such as that would require more coding, thus taking more time. But, like I said, we're at least open to the option... so if you have some art skills, show 'em off!

I like the look of the Bronze, Silver & Gold Stars.
The difference between them is a lot better.
I like the mission ribbons idea too, although I'm not sure how they could be implemented.
Perhaps they could be incorperated into the revised mission system?
i.e. after # completed missions, a 'Tour of Duty' ribbon is awarded?
Just an idea...

Hmm. I think that every medal family should have those tour ribbons added for certain achievements within the medal family. Let me explain:
You have your combat badges, bronze, silver and gold.
Now, on top of these, you get tour ribbons *or maybe clusters* tacked on to your medal for certain achievements like such:
- 5000 ships damaged: Veteran ribbon, gives some kinda ship.
- 10000 ships damaged: Hardened ribbon, gives some kinda ship too.
- 50000 ships damaged: Elite ribbon, gives some kinda really hardcore ship.
- 2 to 1 kill/killed ratio: Master tactician, same.
- 5 to 1 kill/killed ratio: Master strategist, etc.
- 10 to 1 kill/killed ratio: Warmaster, etc.
This allows people to constantly be striving toward a new goal, not just topping out at FA and being bored. To conserve space on the ship select console, the ships given by this thingy could REPLACE existing ships. I.e. you get the Vet ribbon, and for it you get an upgraded Assault Destroyer. It replaces the current AD in your ship list. Dig?
