perhaps cruisers and dreads could allow scouts, frigates and destroyers to dock INSIDE them. this way newbs will be protected until they can reach the battle field where they can eject out. ofcourse put an eject button for the cruiser or dread so that they can boot unhelpful people. jumping will be done together so the first person to jump won't take all the defence bases hits.
btw i'm from darkspace asia and things are quiet there.....

but i sugest that the dread must be in controle of who he wil let in his bay
other wise you just end up massive people docking and the dread ejecting
+ the dread may have a button of green light eject
the scout always has a eject button (unles in jump)
but if the green light apears he isnt forced just a message
THIS IS THE BEST TIME TO COME OUT
and just a idee
let the scout come stuck under the dread but stil would be able to fire full CL lasers underneath the dread
and fire front facing weapons only
!! ad he can not couse dammage to the docked dread when he fires
+ he wil not sustain direct dammage if the dread is hit, well indirect dammage like blast weapons (torps)
i would sugest only 2 scouts for dreads or one frigate
and for posable a station 3 scouts or one frigate
some add to what you had to say about making it fear
just sigestions and my 3 euro cents

What I wold LOVE to see is scouts being able to dock onto dreads and stations and become turrets in Subspace stylee. Now THAT would rock **dreams of the old Subspace days**

What i would like to see is that those pylons on the stations will get some us.
Maybe give a docked station a repair rate bonus.
i can see it now 3 dreads docked to an ICC station

Yeah, and have one of them little slinky-type tubes come from the side of your ship and dock onto the airlocks. And how about tiny little figures in spacesuits evacuating your ship as you press the self destruct sequence??

What I would like to see is ships that require more then one person to opperate. Make FA really mean what its supposed to, have a Fleet Admiral pull out the ship, & require 2 more people to operate it, like one at the help, & one controling the weapons, while the FA barks out orders.

wel i wont agree of 3 dreads docking this a station
but more scouts, frigates or at max destroyers
othre wise you may see a dread docking whit a dread and that one docking again whit a dread and that one docking whit a station
and the are extra defences
soon the wil become flying ship fortress
i would say
only stations and dreads can dock ships
and at max a destroyer
+ monty
there was a game MP that required 2 players for medium class ships
and 3 for heavy dreads
i dont know what the game was called in these days but it was in my 12K modem time
+ it was almost a text base dos game
2 guys : navigator and comunications / weapons, power damage controle
3 guys : navigator and comunications / weapons and dammage controle / power managment and command
ill wil search for the game if you like
but ya would like the idee of more players in a dread but than it would ruwen the game becos not every body has the same idee or target
you should have verry good friends to take command of a ship if you dont want player losses in your ship
maby volentears for some loww dammage turrest maby
but i would sugese that this wont come in darkspace maby some modification of it or in 2007 maby darkspace 2 or somthing :S

perhaps there could be a ban button to permernantly stop the player from docking. probably the penalty for not getting out of the ship in time will result in the destruction of all ships still docked. maybe an option to let the docked players control the dread/crusier/station's weapons would be nice so that the dread/crusier/station can concentrate on moving during a battle

i mean that only frigates, scouts, and destroyers should be able to dock on crusiers and dreads. while stations can take frigates, scouts, destroyers and crusiers. the amount of internal docking should depend on the size of both the host ship and the visitor.

heh, im back, and got a few suggestion on that.
how bout smal ships like scouts, frigates, engineering ships and supplies only have in-system jump drives and cant use jump gates. To go in other sectors they would have to dock with a larger ship that would have to carry them.

heres the stuff I'd like to see...
to be able to land on a planet
when you self destruct if you push a certain button a escape pod will come out and it will only have tahlcon drive on it so you can guide yourself back to the jump gate
more stations (like a battle station and such)
more planetary buldings
when you get close into an atmoshere of a planet have an arura of fire around you like when a space shuttle comes through the atmoshere
make a weapon capable of turning a planet with an atmoshere to a barren planet
make a device that turns a barren planet to a planet with an atmoshere
make a nukelar missle
make a nuke bomb (when it hits the planet it makes a small mushroom cloud and a small shokewave forms around it after it hits a target a building cant be placed there for 1 min.)
create a fleet of battle ships (a big space ship almost as big as a station that moves at the speed of 20 gu and is loaded down with weapons
make scout ship carriers (a big ship in between the size of a battle ship and a station thats able to carrie up to 6 scout ships and has some weapons)
