Now yes, we already have a form of CTF, captureing flag planets right?

But lets expand a little on CTF : The multiple captureing of Objetives
Again, thats the planets. But in other terms it a form of captureing objects, small, precise objects that are key for a fleet to win, such as an outpost, station, etc. etc. and with Ship Captureing enabled again, this opens a wealth of ideas. So why not make objectives that could be used in the MV, or in a new scenario server. This way planets dont become the only important thing out there.

First and foremost, this is best used as a modification of the scenario servers, or even replaceing them, as it offers a wider range of opprotunitys and it also expands on the concepts of the MV. So basically what im saying is: A scenario version of the MV.

Now now, before you go off prepareing a flaming statement, allow me to expand on the idea, its benifits, and the overall value of this.

Now the basic concept of this is to capture objectives, but not planets, but objects in many forms (this is open for suggestions).

Alright then, it would basically work like this:

  • There are all 3 factions, each with 1 planet, with everything built.

  • Factions work like the scenario server, you are automatically selected for your faction, and you cannot switch unless you join a clan.

  • Ships are not aquired through rescources, but through credits, additionally, credits are specific to only this server.

Now when you first start you are automatically, given a scout, you can choose which type. You also start with only 10000 credits, and you go from there, youll have enough to modify your ship to whatever needs it you desire. as you will see, the items you purchase are much more expensive.

Also, your ship wont have all the weapon it should have, see it should be designed that you should only start off with a basic weapon, engine, maybe a special weapon, electronic device,Tachyon Drive.

basic Projectile (I.E. Railgun) A single IE engine, maybe an ECM or 2, and a Jump drive.

So you start of with enoough to barely defend yourself, but see the credits are used to modify your ship, additionally, more types of jump drives, engines, weapons can be creted to expand your options.

Examles : A higher, more powerful version of the UGTO Paticle Cannon, the UGTO Fushion Cannon, requires more energy, but is more powerful towards sheilding.

A higher rate of speed, and with a small tracking ability from its Railgun counterpart, the ICC Mass Driver fires small, yet deadly Urdanium Pellets that cause destructive force towards Armor.

Items can only be bought at a Shipyard, but you wont have to research anything, or build anything.

Again just a few examples.

So i bet your asking now, "When we die, all we worked for is destroyed."

Not exactly. See, it should remain as you left it, with the fact that you lose about 15% ,more resources lost.

Now, when you buy your ship, your wondering how you get credits, this is where the captureing comes in.

There are a total of 9 flags in a map, the map is quite large, 2 times as large as the largest map existant (excluding the MV). The flags are in random locations, and are somewhat hard to find.

On the Nav map (F2) an area in which a flag is located is a different color from the surrounding area, such as a blue color. The flag is only visible within 500gu, then it will show on your sensors. There are 2 types oflags, one takes up 1 cargo slot, the other takes up 2 cargo slots. The scoreing system will work as this.

For every Type 1 flag a person has, 10 Times 50% Of the People Current Playing people Times the number of minutes hes carring the flag.

5*.5N*M=Ammount of Credits. So if 30 peoplewere playing hed get 75 Credits Per Min.With a type two flag itd be 10*.5N*M.

But you see, A person can carry a flag for a maximum for only 90 seconds, unless he destroys a person. So playing by yourself is pointless. After 90 seconds the flag drops right where you are at, It cannot b picked up by the same team. The team that captures and holds all 9 flags for 15 minutes wins.

Also, for ever flag you get, you earn prestige.

5 Prestige for Every Flag * The Number of People (10%) * The Number of minutes.

So if hes carrying 1 flag with 30 people playing and he carried it for 5minutes.: 5*3*5 = 75Prestige.

Again playing by yourself will get you nowhere.

Actually, to prevent this, it should be allowed that game cannot start with less than 2 people (subject to opinion).

At the end of a game, there is a ranking of the players, based on the number of kills of individuals, the flag captures, carrying kills etc. etc.

Also the teams are ranked by the same stats. MVP's Get a bonus, these are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd players who did exceedingly well with capping flags. What they get is a Jackpot, a Credit Jackpot.

For The 3 Players * The Ammount Of Flag Captures For these 3 * the NUmber of Minutes Held Total = jackpot

So if they captured 30 Flags and held them for a total of 10 Minutes Time the 3 = 900 Credits

1st - 50%
2nd - 25%
3rd - 10%

Now the team that wins earns something called a Prestige Jackpot - This a conglomeration of prestige that is built up during the game, the longer the game, the higher the jackpot.

For Every person Playing * Every minute of game time= The Jackpot.

So for 30 times the 30 Min.s the game lasted = 900 Prestige.

1st Best Player For The Team Gets 25%
2nd Best Player For The Team Gets 10%
3rd Best Player For The Team Gets 5%

It keeps going lower and lower based on your rank.

Now when you get a ship, you can only have one ship of each class at any time.

That pretty much covers it. but for goddness sake, i think ill include prices for the Ships.

Scout - Free
Frigate - 25000 Credits
Destroyer -70000 Credits
Cruiser - 175000 Credits
Dreadnought - 500000 Credits
Station - 1 Million Credits
Transport - 50000 Credits
Engineer - 100000 Credits

Oh and BTW, The Engineer Can Be used to Build a Trade Station, that acts like a Shipyard, that allows the buy and sell of parts, and ships.

Oh and please, feel free to add anything to this, just dont flame!

**(NOTE) The Idea occured to me while playing a different game.

um, CTF is actually an acronym (right word there?) for 3 words, therefore it cannot be one word.

This sounds more like EVE, than Darkspace... the idea is sound, but maybe not for this game..
